Vision

The National Center for Educational Improvement (NCEI) will promote 21st century schools that challenge students to acquire and apply the knowledge and interpersonal skills they need to thrive in constantly changing environments by adapting, creating and reshaping the landscape of their lives in pursuit of excellence and innovation.

Mission

School improvement will be enhanced through partnerships with the National Center for Educational Improvement (NCEI) using a diverse cadre of nationally-recognized education consultants to develop and implement comprehensive strategic action plans based on individual district and school needs.

Partnership Planning Process

1. Conduct a comprehensive analysis of the school/district programs, identifying strengths and areas of need.

2. Prepare a detailed one- to three-year design for improvement that is tailored to the district/school’s unique characteristics, needs, and that is aligned with national standards.

3. Prepare and implement the recommended detailed design in team collaboration with NCEI consultants--whose expertise matches the identified needs and strategies--and with school/district staff who not only have similar expertise but also understand the history and culture of the organization.

4. Establish on-going targets and objectives working with the district/school; benchmarks will be monitored by NCEI as feedback and suggestions for design adjustments are obtained and provided.

5. Provide a final evaluation and recommendations for continued progress as the final step of the multi-year program.
